What is Ear Wax Micro-Suction?

Micro-suction is the safest and most effective way of cleaning wax build up and any obstruction caused by foreign bodies down the ear canal. We use a sophisticated microscope providing a magnified light source, enabling for the delicate structures of the ear canal to be viewed properly throughout the whole procedure.

How Safe is Micro-Suction?

Ear wax removal using micro-suction is performed whilst having the ability to clearly view the intricacies of the ear using a microscope and a finely calibrated suction device. There is absolutely no introduction of any materials or liquids. The procedure is well tolerated by the vast majority and provides quick results. The suction wands are sterile, reducing any risk of infection to zero. For these reasons alone, micro-suction is considered the safest method of removing wax from the ear.

Do I Need Any Preparation Before the Procedure?

We recommend using a few squirts of Earol sterile olive oil spray or a few drops of olive oil in either ear for a few days prior to your appointment. Most of our patients manage to have their ears cleared in one session without any pre-treatment.

Does Micro-Suction Hurt?

No – the procedure is totally painless! Our micro-suction practitioners are highly trained and will gently draw the wax from your ear using a CE-certified medical suction pump.

How Often Can I Have Micro-Suction Done?

The treatment can be administered as and when required. Some patients have undergone treatment up to two to three times a year. We can decide how many treatments you may require during your routine check up’s.

  • £50.00 – for one ear
  • £70.00 – for both ears
